Although the Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc was announced and a teaser video posted to YouTube, no official release date has been confirmed as of right now. Rumors about a potential second season have been buzzing for a while and now, one of the series' voice actors has hinted that these comments may have some truth to them.

Ryan Colt Levy, the voice actor for Denji in Chainsaw Man, responded to a post on X by a Chainsaw Man news account, @ChainsawShots. The original X post stated that a second season of the acclaimed shonen anime has been "Officially Confirmed according to New Legal Documents filed by Shueisha the Animation Studio." Levy responded by stating that he was unsure as to the validity of the claims made in the post but, "but if actually true…everything is about to change." This bold statement not only sparked excitement, but revealed that Levy himself is eager for another season of Chainsaw Man.

Levy's comments are a great sign that a second season of Chainsaw Man may very well be in the works, even if staff are unable to confirm or deny it at this moment. The Reze Arc film has been confirmed for certain and will likely be the next installment in the franchise, covering the fifth arc of the manga, titled the Bomb Girl arc. The movie is set to cover from chapters #39 to #52 of the manga, telling the story of protagonist Denji meeting the mysterious character Reze who he eventually forms an unlikely and complex romantic relationship with.

Since the Reze Arc film is already being produced and will likely receive a 2025 or 2026 release date soon, the movie will probably come out before the next anime season. The movie will pick up directly after the Katana Man arc, which is where the anime last concluded in 2022. After the film covers these fourteen chapters, it would make sense for a second season to follow, picking up with the International Assassins arc, which is the next story arc after the Bomb Girl arc. This action-packed arc introduces many new Devils and would be perfect for an anime adaptation.

Levy's remarks suggest that he would be more than happy to voice Denji again, which is a crucial component in creating another season, since he lends his voice to the protagonist. Although Chainsaw Man was incredibly expensive for MAPPA to produce and animate, the CEO called it "a financial success" which seems to suggest the company would be happy to continue the shonen series' run. Since no new Chainsaw Man content has appeared on-screen since 2022, fans can rest easy with the knowledge that a movie is definitely coming, and now, a new anime season may be here soon too.
