The novel is the first of a seven-book series.

Bernie Kosar is John's Chimæra who followed him from Lorien secretly. BK keeps an eye on John without him knowing for most of his childhood. He takes on the form of a gecko whilst in Florida, It isn't until after the death of Number Three that Bernie makes his presence known to John in the regular form of a beagle.

The Connection Between Memory and Identity

Memory is an important theme in the novel, particularly in relation to Four's identity. In the beginning of the novel, it is clear that Four is struggling to form an identity on Earth because he and Henri have been on the run for so many years.

Screenwriter Marti Noxon confirmed (via JoBlo) that the plan for I Am Number Four 2 that continued the series was put on the back burner following the negative critical reception of the original movie. I Am Number Four received mostly mediocre reviews, sitting at 33% on Rotten Tomatoes.

All plans for a sequel were cancelled due to the film's poor performance. A reboot, produced by Neal H. Moritz, with Gough and Millar returning to write, is currently in the works.

BK survives the ambush in Chicago and later heads to Alabama with Sarah. Although he is said to have come with John on the ship Sandor makes no mention of him in Last Days of Lorien. BK is normally found in his well known beagle form.

After the battle, only a handful of Loric were still alive waiting in orbit. They saw that Lorien was no longer capable of sustaining life, so they set a course to Earth. To this day Lorien is in ruins but waits, dormant, for the Garde's return to revive it.

Pittacus is said to be the most powerful of the Elders and is the only one who could fight Setrákus Ra, the Mogadorian leader. Number Four is the new Pittacus Lore, as he holds all the same powers as Pittacus. Pittacus Lore shares his name with the author.

In the end, Henri is killed, but the Mogadorians are temporarily defeated. John and Number Six gather their belongings and leave Ohio, along with Sam. John promises Sarah that he will one day return for her.

Number Six (also known as Maren Elizabeth, the last Earth name that; Katarina gave her) is one of the ten Loric children; who had escaped from Lorien and is one of the six remaining Loric Garde.

Ra uses Dreynen when Number Four attacks. Ella stabs Setrákus Ra in the leg and realizes that she is the only one who can kill him. Ra tries to kill her, but Four prevents it. Five comes and stops Four from stabbing Setrákus Ra and killing Ella.

The movie is based on a young adult science fiction novel by Pittacus Lore, and it is the first book in the Lorien Legacies series: "I Am Number Four," "The Power of Six," "The Rise of Nine," "The Fall of Five," "The Revenge of Seven" and "The Fate of Ten." This 5-book series is so entertaining that it is easy to read them all straight through (P.S. each is only around 200 pages).

The limits of this Legacy are unknown, although it is said that there are around 70 Legacies that are known. John also seems to master the legacies at an incredibly fast rate.
