June 30, 2024 Bus Route & Schedule Changes (2024)

Here are the bus route and service changes effective June 30, 2024. While many being summer related, there are several permanent route changes, cuts, as well as service increases related to congestion pricing of which has so far been halted. The continuity of said service is unknown at this time depending on what happens with the plan. Also note that there are some other routes which got updated timetables but have formatting changes only, or very minor schedule changes and thus were not included here.

THE BRONX

Bx12 Local - Daytime Service Extended to Orchard Beach & Inwood for the Summer, Frequencies Improved

Daily service from approximately 6 AM to 8 PM will run to/from Orchard Beach
Service throughout the day will be extended from Sedgwick Avenue in The Bronx to the 207th Street station in Inwood
Weekday Peak: Service will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 8-10 minutes
Weekday Off Peak: Service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 12-15 minutes
Weekdays: The first local evening bus from University Heights to Bay Plaza will depart at 8:50 PM instead of 9:36 PM
Weekdays: The first local evening bus from Bay Plaza will depart at 9:21 PM instead of at 10:15 PM
Weekdays: The first bus from Inwood will departat 10:29 PM instead of at 10:55 PM
Saturdays:The first local bus of the eveningfrom Bartow Avenue will depart at 8:24 PM instead of 10:00 PM
Saturdays:The first local bus of the eveningfrom Bay Plazawill depart at 9:04PM instead of 10:08PM

B1 - Summer Schedule, Reduced Weekday Service

Buses will operate on the traditional summer schedule, however usual summer trips running between KCC and 86th Street & Stillwell Avenue will not run (-12 trips)

- WB 4:20 - 5:20 AM: Buses willoperate every 15-20 minutes instead of every 20-30 minutes (+1 trip)
- WB 5:21- 8:23 AM: Buses will operate slightly less frequent(-1 trip).

- WB 7:50 PM - 12:20 AM: Buses will operate every 10-30 minutes instead of every 11-37 minutes (+3 trips)
- EB 6:43- 10:45 AM: Buses will operate every 5-10 minutes instead of every 5-9 minutes + shuttles to KCC (-17 trips)
- EB 10:45 AM - 1:54 PM: Buses will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 10 minutes (-2 trips)
- EB 8:04 - 9:18 PM: Buses will operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 11-15 minutes (+2 trips)

B6 , B7 , B9 , B16, B44 Local , B44 SBS - Weekday Summer Schedule Reductions

Weekday service will operate on the "School Closed" schedule effect during the traditional school year

B41 Local / B41 LIMITED - Weekday Summer Schedule (Reduced Service)

Early AM departures from Bergen Beach between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM will operate as follows (-1 trip):
- REGULAR - 3:03 AM, 3:47 AM, 4:17 AM, 4:39AM, 4:59 AM, 5:19 AM, 5:37 AM, 5:53 AM

- 4:30 AM - 7:09 AM (Local Only): Service will operate less frequent from Downtown, with corresponding put-ins south of Downtown discontinued (-5 trips)
- 7:10 AM - 11:59 AM: Local/LTD service will operate every 9-10 / 8-17 minutes instead of every 10 / 6-10 minutes, respectively (-9 trips)
- 11:59 AM - 4:33PM: Service will operate slightly more frequent (+5 trips)
- 4:33 PM - 8:00 PM: Service will operate slightly more frequent (+4 trips)
- 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Service will operate slightly less frequent (-1 trip)

B49 Local - Summer Schedule, Reduced Weekday Service, Weekend Daytime Increases, Sunday Service Span Decrease

Weekdays NB to Bedford-Stuyvesant:
- 9:05 AM - 3:52 PM: Service will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 8-10 minutes (-11 trips)
- 5:46 PM - 9:45 PM: Service will operate every 12-25 minutes instead of every 12-15 minutes (-4 trips)
- 9:45 PM - 1:25 AM: Service will operate every 27-30 minutes instead of every 22-30 minutes (-1 trip)
Weekdays SB to KCC:
- 7:22 AM - 3:00 PM: Service will operate every 9-12 minutes instead of every 9-10 minutes (-6 trips)
- 3:50 PM - 7:45 PM: Service will operate less frequently (-3 trips)
- 7:45 PM - 2:15 AM: Service will operate less frequently (-5 trips)
Saturdays:
- New trips from Foster Avenue & Rogers Avenue on Saturdays (towards Fulton Street) will be added at 5:14 AM and 10:16 AM (+2 trips)
- The 6:44 AM, 7:24 AM, 8:34 AM buses on Saturdays from Foster Ave & Rogers Ave toFulton Street will be discontinued (-3 trips)
- The 6:32 PM trip from Fulton Street to KCC will now depart at 6:27 PM
- The 6:42 PM trip from Fulton Street to Bedford Avenue & Avenue D will be extended to KCC
- The 7:32 PM trip from Fulton Street to KCC has been split into a 7:27 PM trip to KCC, and 7:42 PM trip to Avenue D (+1 trip)
- The 7:52 PM trip from Fulton Street to KCC will now depart at 7:57 PM
- The 8:32 PM trip from Fulton Street to KCC has been split into a 8:27 PM trip to KCC, and 8:42 PM trip to Avenue D (+1 trip)
- The 8:52 PM and 9:02 trips from Fulton Street to KCCwill be combined into a trip departing Fulton Street at 8:57 PM (-1 trip)
- A trip from Fulton Street to Avenue D will be added at 12:19 AM (+1 trip)
Sundays:
- Two new trips from Foster Avenue & Rodgers Avenue on Saturdays (towards Fulton Street) will be added at7:41 AM (+1 trip)
- The 8:35 AM and 8:59 AM buses on Sundays from Foster Ave & Rogers Ave towards Fulton Street will be discontinued (-2 trip)
- The 10:51 AM trip from Fulton Street to Avenue D will be discontinued (-1 trip)
- NB 4:40 - 9:05PM: Buses will operate every 12-18 minutes instead of every 15-20 minutes(+6 trips)
- NB: The 2:24 AM and final 2:55 AM trips from KCC to Ocean Avenue & Avenue S will be discontinued (-2 trips)
- The final bus will now depart at 1:20 AM
- SB 5:00 PM - 9:30 PM: Trips operating from Fulton Street to KCC will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 20 minutes (+4 trips)
- The three trips from Fulton Street to Avenue D departing at 5:49, 11:06, and 11:57 PM will be replaced by 4 trips departing at 7:49, 8:34, 9:57, and 11:29 PM (+1 trip)

B49 LIMITED: Summer Schedule - Service Reduction

The 6:38 AM, 6:46 AM, and 6:54 AM buses will not operate (-3 trips)
The 7:03 AM bus from Empire Boulevard will depart at 7:00 AM
Service between 7:00 and 7:45 AM will operate every 15 minutes instead of every 10-12 minutes (-1 trip)

BM2 - Weekday AM Trip Increase in Anticipation of Congestion Pricing Only

The 5:50 AM trip will be split into a 5:40 AM and 6:00 AM trip

BM5 - Weekday PM Trip Increase in Anticipation of Congestion Pricing Only

The 3:40 PM trip from Midtown will now depart at 3:25 PM
A new 4:10 PM trip from Midtown will be added

MANHATTAN

M2 - Route Change in Washington Heights (No Timetable Yet)

Buses will now operate via Amsterdam Avenue instead of Audubon Avenue between West 165th & West 168th Streets
The stop on Audubon Avenue & West 165th Street will be discontinued

M3 - Permanent Route Change in Fort George

Northbound buses will now permanently operate via Amsterdam Avenue & Fort George Avenue north of West 190th Street
Northbound buses will now terminate at St. Nicholas Avenue & West 192nd Street instead of 66 Fort George Avenue

Q4 Local: Summer Schedule - Weekday Daytime Cuts

Tues-Sat: The 1:11 AM, 1:31 AM, and 2:20 AMtrips from Cambria Heights to Jamaica will be discontinued
Weekdays: The 3:45 AM trip from Cambria Heights to Jamaica will now depart at 3:52 AM
Weekdays: Readjustment of departures from Jamaica between 3 and 5 AM
Weekdays: All service between 6 and 7 AM will originate at 235th Street instead of Francis Lewis Boulevard
Weekdays: Late AM service will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 8-9 minutes (towards Jamaica)
AM rush service will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 10 minutes (towards Cambria Heights)
Weekdays: The 3:09 PM put-in from Francis Lewis Boulevard to Jamaica will be discontinued

The 8:53 AM and 9:03 AM trips from Cambria Heights have been discontinued (the last trip will now departCambria Heights at 8:43 AM)
The 2:56 PM trip from Jamaica to Cambria Heights will now depart at 2:49 PM
PM service before 4 PM will operate every 20 minutes instead of every 10-12 minutes

Weekdays: AM service from 4:00 AM to 5:30 AM will run approximately every 12-20 minutes instead of every 10 minutes.
Weekdays: AM peak service will operate every 6-7 minutes instead of every 5-6 minutes
Weekdays: AM service from 8-9 AM will run every 10 minutes instead of every 7-8 minutes.
Weekdays: Combined Midday and early PM rush service will run every 8-10 minutes instead of every 7-8 minutes.
Weekdays: PM peak service will operate every 8 minutes instead of approximately every 3-6minutes.
Weekdays: Slightly more frequent early evening service towards Jamaica will be provided
Weekday overnight trips will operate up to 5 minutes later than current times.

Q5 LIMITED: Summer Schedule - Rush Hour and Evening Service Reduction

Service from 5:58 AM to 6:36 AM will operate approximately every 10 minutes instead of every 8 minutes.
Service during the AM rushwill operate every 10-12 minutes instead of every 8-10 minutes.
Service during the height of the PM rush will operate every 9-10 minutes instead of every 6-8 minutes.
The last bus from Jamaica will depart at 8:04PM instead of 8:42PM.

Q15 / Q15A - Weekday Evening Service Reduction in Residential Whitestone

The 10:02 PM Q15A from Beechhurst to Flushing will now operate as a Q15
This creates an 80 minute gap between Q15A buses; all other subsequent trips unchanged

Q22 - Service to Far Rockaway Stops at Jacob Riis For The Summer, Weekend Trip Eliminations

Eastbound service stops at Jacob Riis daily as follows:
- Weekdays: 8:53AM to 9:30 PM
- Saturdays: 8:38AM to 9:48 PM
- Sundays: 8:37AM to 9:50 PM
The 7:08 PM trip from Beach 116th Street to Far Rockaway on Sundays will be discontinued

Q27 Local, Q27 LIMITED - Summer Schedule Changes

Weekdays NB/WB:

The 4:05 AM will bus from Cambria Heights will be discontinued (-1 trip)
The 6:01 AM, 6:51 AM, 6:55 AM, 8:02 AM, and 8:12 AMtrips from Horace Harding Expressway (HHE) to Flushing will be discontinued (-5 trips)
5:50 AM - 6:35AM: Local full route service from Cambria Heights to Flushing will operate slightly less frequently (NO CHANGE)
6:36 AM - 7:34 AM: Service from Cambria Heights to Flushing will operate morefrequently (+3 trips)
7:35 AM - 9:25 AM: Local / LTD service from Cambria Heights to Flushing will operate every 5-7 / 6-12 min instead of every 6-7 / 6-10 min(+3 trips)

Southbound (to Jamaica)

Q35 buses will be serving Riis Park as follows:

From Midwood: 8:30 AM to 8:40 PM (WKDYS), 7:00 AM to 9:10 PM (SAT), 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM (SUN)
To B. 116th Street: 8:52 AM to 8:59 PM (WKDYS), 7:23 AM to 9:33 PM (SAT), 7:23 AM to 9:51 PM (SUN)

Weekday schedule changes:

Queens-bound 8:40 AM - 1:30 PM: Every other bus will be truncated to end at Riis Park (every 30 minutes to points east)
Brooklyn-bound 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Service from Rockaway Park will be halved to every 30 minutes from every 15 minutes
Service in Brooklyn will still operate every 15 minutes, although service will originate from Riis Park

Saturday schedule changes:

Queens-bound 9:50 AM - 8:10 PM: Service between Midwood and Riis Park will operate every 5-10 minutes instead of every 10-15 minutes
Within Queens, service between 10:46 AM and 2:41 PM will operate roughly every 20-30 minutes
Within Queens, service between 2:41 PM and 7:34 PM will operate every 5-15minutes at inconsistent levels, less frequentthan Brooklyn service

The 5:45 AM trip from Floral Park to Jamaica will be discontinued
5:48 AM - 8:28 AM: Buses will operate every 7-15 minutes instead of every 27 minutes to 6:15 AM, followed by every4-12 minutes after (-11 trips)
8:55 AM - 9:45 AM: Buses will operate every 8-9 minutes instead of every 10 minutes (+1 trip)
9:45 AM - 3:56PM: Buses will operate less frequently (-5 trips)
A 4:01 PM trip from Jamaica to Floral Park will be added (+1 trip)

5:19 AM - 6:53 AM from Springfield Blvd: Service will operate every 8-10 minutes instead of every 4-8 minutes (-9 trips)
6:53 AM - 8:36 AM from Springfield Blvd: Service will operate every 5-8 minutes instead of 5-6 minutes (-2 trips)
